Díla, která se týkají totalitarismu, mají v Čechách značné zpoždění, a pokud již vyjdou, nejsou nijak zvlášť propagována. Příkladem může být i slavné dílo Hannah Arendtové Původ totalitarismu (The Origins of Totalitarianism), které vyšlo v New Yorku v roce 1951 (Schocken Books). V roce 1955 pak vychází s obměnami také v Německu (Elemente und Ursprünge totaler Herrschaft)  a druhé vydání v roce 1958 již obsahuje nové poznatky z vývoje v Sovětském svazu se závěrečnou kapitolu s názvem Ideologie a teror. V Čechách vychází poprvé v roce 1996, podruhé v roce 2013 a dotisk druhého vydání v roce 2017.

George Berkeley je znám především svým idealismem a popřením možnosti hmotné substance. Neméně významné je však jeho chápání mysli člověka jako bytostně aktivního jsoucna a jeho teorie sebeuvědomění. James Hill předkládá čtenářům originální pohled na Berkeleyho filosofii ducha. Dokládá, proč je tradiční empiristická interpretace Berkeleyho filosofie neudržitelná, v jakém smyslu bylo jeho pojetí mysli a intelektuálních pojmů ve své době průkopnické a v čem zůstává aktuální ještě i dnes. This textbook accomplishes this task. It is organized in such a way that instructors have the freedom to select outside source material and present lectures that are relevant to the needs of a specific class while, at the same time, provide a coherent and consistent approach to that topic. Because of its flexibility, the instructor can start with any chapter, or any entries within a chapter, and then proceed as best he or she thinks. The textbook merely provides a theoretical framework for students to understand political science, with the instructor providing the primary content of the course. Thus, the textbook can be used in multiple ways by the instructor.

This important new work is a major analysis of the foundation of Eric Voegelin's political science. Barry Cooper maintains that the writings Voegelin undertook in the 1940s provide the groundwork for the brilliant book that is one of his best known, The New Science of Politics. At the time of that book's publication, however, few were aware of the enormous knowledge and accomplished scholarship that lay behind its illuminating, although sometimes baffling, formulations. By focusing on several of the key chapters in Voegelin's eight- volume History of Political Ideas, especially the studies of Bodin, Vico, and Schelling, Cooper shows how those studies provide the basis for Voegelin's thought. Investigating Voegelin's study of Oriental influences on Western political "ideas," especially Mongol constitutional law, and his study of Toynbee, Cooper seeks to demonstrate the vast range of materials Voegelin used. Political philosophers Leo Strauss and Eric Voegelin share an abiding interest in the Judeo-Christian tradition. In Disturbing Revelation, the first book to focus on their treatment of the Bible, John Ranieri explores how they draw on its texts in their philosophies and shows what these considerations say about whether the combination of religion and politics leads to violence or can prevent it. In addressing fundamental questions of reason and revelation, Ranieri focuses not on Strauss’s treatment of Judaism or Voegelin’s of Christianity, but rather on the place of the Bible in their thought.
